The Bradley County Rural Fire Department responded to a fire call at 200 Bradley 20 on Monday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. Seven firemen and one truck responded to the call. Upon arrival the firemen discovered that a fire ignited by a Mr. Harton
pulling out of his drive with a tractor on a trailer when the hay cutter on the tractor became entangled in the CATV line and pulled a pole over. The pole fell on the tractor and the three phase line shorted causing sparks and igniting a fire in the grass on the side of the road.
The fire was quickly extinguished, however the driver had to stay in the truck until the power company employees disconnected the power to make sure the truck was no longer energised.
